How to Make Tree in Little Alchemy 2

It’s difficult to imagine the Earth without trees. Although you can look to Mars to see a planet without plant life from afar, no similar vistas exist on our planet.

If you were able to visit Mars today, you wouldn’t be able to experience it without wearing a spacesuit because Martian air contains high levels of carbon dioxide rather than oxygen.

One of the biggest differences between the two planets is the presence of plant life like trees that produce a high level of oxygen.

In “Little Alchemy 2,” you need trees in your world. The game offers you four methods to make the Tree element:

1. Create the First Plant

In “Little Alchemy 2,” you must progress from the earliest and smallest elements to later and larger elements. In this case, since trees are plants, you start with the Plant element.

If you haven’t already collected Plant, you can make it by combining water- and land-related elements to follow a path similar to how plant life likely formed on Earth.

You must first have a body of water, primordial soup, and energy to create life and then add that life to the soil:

  • Water + Water = Puddle
  • Puddle + Puddle = Pond
  • Pond + Pond = Lake
  • Lake + Lake = Sea
  • Earth + Sea = Primordial Soup
  • Fire + Fire = Energy
  • Energy + Primordial Soup = Life
  • Life + Earth = Soil
  • Soil + Life = Plant

The Plant icon is a simple green plant that features a stem and two leaves. The words “The original solar-powered organism” appear beneath it on the screen.

2. Give Plant the Ability to Grow

In this game, you often make larger elements from smaller ones by doubling a single element or combining one of the four basic elements with a larger one.

In the real world, trees developed from smaller land-based plants over millions of years. No one knows the exact process, but modern trees obviously couldn’t exist without those earlier plants.

As a result, the easiest way to make a Tree is to grow trees from plants by combining the Plant element with the Big element. Big represents the idea of something small becoming larger. In fact, the text in the game used to describe Big states “When small grows up.”

If you haven’t already collected Big, you first create a planet and the largest systems relative to it and then add to the mix the human ability to creatively imagine concepts like big:

  • Earth + Earth = Land
  • Land + Land = Continent
  • Continent + Continent = Planet
  • Planet + Fire = Sun
  • Planet + Sun = Solar System
  • Solar System + Solar System = Galaxy
  • Galaxy + Galaxy = Galaxy Cluster
  • Galaxy Cluster + Galaxy Cluster = Universe
  • Earth + Water = Mud
  • Air + Air = Pressure
  • Pressure + Earth = Stone
  • Mud + Stone = Clay
  • Clay + Life = Human
  • Stone + Air = Sand
  • Sand + Fire = Glass
  • Sun + Energy = Solar Cell
  • Solar Cell + Sun = Electricity
  • Glass + Electricity = Light Bulb
  • Human + Lightbulb = Idea
  • Human + Idea = Philosophy

Once you collect Philosophy, you combine it with Planet, Sun, Solar System, Galaxy, Galaxy Cluster, or Universe. The Big icon, a white circle that contains four blue arrows pointing outward, appears on the screen.

Now, you can make a Tree!

  • Plant + Big = Tree

The Tree icon, the image of a tree that has a similar structure to the Plant icon but with a thicker stem, bark, and more leaves, pops up with the words “Source of wood, and eternal adversary of lumberjacks.”

Additional Combinations to Make Tree

Although you can make a Tree from combining Plant and Wood, this type of combination is an example of how “Little Alchemy 2” requires that you reach a certain point in the game before you can make an element a specific way.

You actually need to make Wood from Tree-related combinations before you can use it reverse-style with Plant to make Tree.

Your other options are to combine Container with Plant or Nest. These element combinations require that you’ve already made a certain amount of progress in the game and collected a lot of complex animals-, plant- and tool-related elements.

Lastly, you can make a Tree by combining Plant with the Time element. That said, you must have 96 elements in your collection in addition to the four basic elements given to you at the start of the game, a total of 100 elements, to acquire Time.

How Does Tree Help You in “Little Alchemy 2”?

Through photosynthesis, the process by which trees synthesize food from carbon dioxide, water, and sunlight, trees generate oxygen as a byproduct.

Without trees, you wouldn’t exist because trees produce the majority of the oxygen that you’re breathing in from the air right now.

Humans use the fruit from many trees in their diets, which means that you wouldn’t have access to any tree-related fruit, including nuts, without trees.

People also learned in time how to alter and cultivate trees to make tools, produce fuel and improve life.

In “Little Alchemy 2,” the Tree element gives you access to more than 30 of these and other tree-related elements:

  • Tree + Night = Carbon Dioxide
  • Tree + Carbon Dioxide = Oxygen
  • Tree + Sun = Oxygen
  • Tree + Lake = Swamp
  • Tree + Mud = Swamp
  • Tree + Desert = Cactus & Oasis
  • Tree + Sand = Cactus & Palm
  • Tree + Beach = Palm
  • Tree + Island = Palm
  • Tree + Container = Forest
  • Tree + Land = Forest
  • Tree + Plant = Forest
  • Tree + Tree = Forest
  • Tree + Wind = Leaf
  • Tree + Dawn = Dew
  • Tree + Fog = Dew
  • Tree + Beaver = Dam
  • Tree + Flower = Fruit

Uncover Every Branch of This Tree

It’s easy sometimes to be unable to see the forest for the trees in “Little Alchemy 2.” You must understand the history and pay attention to detail to see the big picture and make large elements like trees.

As you’ve learned from this guide, your actions today can bear all kinds of fruit after you combine Tree with other elements. Those elements in turn bear even more fruit.

For example, you can use the Forest element to make Park, Rainforest, Fog, Wolf, and Wild Boar. You can use the actual Fruit element to make Alcohol, Banana, Coconut, Cook, Jam, Juice, Mold, Pie, Recipe, Smoothie, Sugar, and Wine.

If you have the “Myths and Monsters” content pack, you can also create the mythic Apple of Discord, Peach of Immortality, and Dionysus.
