How to Make Life in Little Alchemy 2

Life is not a basic building block element in “Little Alchemy 2”. It might seem strange that you’re not given the Life element from the start, but the entire game is based on the concept of making elements and then making complex systems of elements.

Every form of life on Earth is made up of other elements. As a result, the only way to make the Life element in the game is by logically creating basic forms of life in much the same way life likely formed on Earth billions of years ago and then building more complex life forms using the Life element.

“Little Alchemy 2” provides you with 12 unique element combination options to make the Life element.

The below steps start with the most logical option followed by alternative methods:

1. Form a Complex Wet Environment

Many theories exist about how life began on the planet. Some of the most popular ones share the idea that life began in a wet environment like a lake, sea, or ocean.

This planet possibly experienced changes in the atmosphere that caused the formation of organic materials or chemicals on the surfaces of water bodies. Scientists refer to these substances as primordial soup

These water bodies and substances are critical to the formation of life. As with the real world, you must create a similar environment in “Little Alchemy 2.”

You can start with a large body of water by doubling water-based elements using the following combinations:

  • Water + Water = Puddle
  • Puddle + Puddle = Pond
  • Pond + Pond = Lake

The image of a blue lake appears on screen with the words “A big pond.”

You can stop creating wet environments at this point since Lake is one of the elements that you can use to make Life. That said, if you want to make a larger body of water, you simply continue to double water-based elements as follows:

  • Lake + Lake = Sea

A Sea icon with blue water between two cliffs appears with the words “Commonly mistaken for an ocean, it is a smaller body of water that’s at least partially surrounded by land.”

  • Sea + Sea = Ocean

An Ocean icon that features blue water and waves appears with the words “A vast expanse of saltwater that is filled with unimaginable horrors.”

If you want to create a primordial soup, the game also has a Primordial Soup element. Once you make a larger water-based element, such as Sea or Ocean, you combine it with an earth-based element like Earth, Planet, or Lava.

A bubble filled with a soup that contains the building blocks of life appears onscreen with the words “A body of water so theoretically amazing that it can give birth.”

2. Expose the Environment to Transformative Energy

Theories about the origin of life on Earth include a process of transformation in which substances in a lake, sea, ocean or primordial soup transformed and created the first life when exposed to other powerful elements like lightning.

In “Little Alchemy 2,” you can also make a life by adding this type of transformative energy to the mix. You need clouds though to make the storm needed to form lightning.

If you don’t already have the Cloud element, you must double earth-related elements to create a Planet and Atmosphere and then combine Atmosphere with Water:

  • Earth + Earth = Land
  • Land + Land = Continent
  • Continent + Continent = Planet
  • Planet + Air = Atmosphere
  • Atmosphere + Water = Cloud

A white cloud appears onscreen with the words “Natural containers of water suspended in the air.”

Once you have Cloud, you double it to make Storm and then combine Storm with Land to make Lightning:

  • Cloud + Cloud = Storm
  • Storm + Land = Lightning

A black storm cloud and lightning bolt appear with the words “Violent clouds” when you make the Storm element. When you combine Storm with Land, a bright, golden lightning bolt appears with the words “When clouds try to be flashy.”

Now that you have Lightning, you’re ready to make the Life element by dropping it onto a Lake, Sea, Ocean, or Primordial Soup element. A Life icon representing DNA RNA appears on the screen with the words “It finds a way.”

3. Alternative Methods for Making Life

Since energy is part of the lightning discharge believed to be critical for the formation of life, you can also create the Life element by combining the Energy element with Primordial Soup. If you haven’t collected Energy yet, it’s easy to create with the Fire element:

  • Fire + Fire = Energy

A lightning bolt with arrows of energy encircling it appears as the Energy icon onscreen with the words “The universal motivator.”

Since electricity is also part of lightning, you can make Life by combining the Electricity element with Lake, Sea, Ocean, allow players or Primordial Soup.

If you haven’t collected Electricity, you must complete additional steps involving complex elements you likely haven’t explored yet.

Lastly, you can make Life by exposing Primordial Soup to several other elements. The game allows you to make Life by combining the Storm element and Primordial Soup separate from the Lightning combination.

You can also combine Primordial Soup with the Volcano or Time elements. If you don’t already have Volcano, you can make it by combining Earth and Lava. Time is a special unlockable element that you receive only after you progress to a certain point in the game.

Why Does Life Matter in “Little Alchemy 2”?

Without life, animals, including humans and potential new artificial life in the form of robots, wouldn’t exist on the surface of Earth. Bacteria wouldn’t even exist.

Life is responsible for the microorganisms and organic matter that enriches the soil and makes dirt capable of supporting more complex forms of life like plants on land and in the ocean. Plants are necessary to produce breathable air from the carbon dioxide and oxygen cycle.

Without life, people would have no point of reference for death. Humans would have also never imagined alien life on other planets or walking golems, gingerbread men, and zombies.

As with the real world, “Little Alchemy 2” uses the Life element to make these and many other necessary elements. You can use the following element combinations to make 17 additional elements in the game:

  • Life + Primordial Soup = Bacteria
  • Life + Mud = Bacteria
  • Life + Small = Bacteria
  • Life + Earth = Soil
  • Life + Soil = Plant
  • Life + Water = Plankton
  • Life + Sea = Plankton
  • Life + Ocean = Plankton
  • Life + Forest = Animal
  • Life + Land = Animal & Soil
  • Life + Beach = Animal
  • Life + Desert = Animal
  • Life + Mountain = Animal
  • Life + Mountain Range = Animal
  • Life + Clay = Human
  • Life + Armor = Robot
  • Life + Metal = Robot
  • Life + Steel = Robot
  • Life + Mercury = Alien
  • Life + Venus = Alien
  • Life + Mars = Alien
  • Life + Jupiter = Alien
  • Life + Saturn = Alien
  • Life + Space = Alien
  • Life + Solar System = Alien
  • Life + Galaxy = Alien
  • Life + Galaxy Cluster = Alien
  • Life + Container = Egg
  • Life + Cookie Dough = Gingerbread Man
  • Life + Cookie = Gingerbread Man
  • Life + Dough = Gingerbread Man
  • Life + Time = Death
  • Life + Death = Organic Matter
  • Life + Science = Organic Matter
  • Life + Corpse = Zombie
  • Life + Statue = Golem
  • Life + Rainbow = Magic
  • Life + Double Rainbow! = Magic
  • Life + Fire = Phoenix
  • Life + Wood = Pinocchio

Continue to Explore Complex Life

One of the main goals of “Little Alchemy 2” is to give players the opportunity to not only build complex systems from basic ones but also create simple and then complex life.

Now that you have collected the Life element and many other elements that emerge directly from it, you can discover a wide array of even more complex life forms and other elements.

For example, by merely exploring the Plant element, you can make Carbon Dioxide, Oxygen, Dew, Algae, Seaweed, Moss, Peat, Grass, Hedge, Ivy, Fruit Tree, Tree, Forest, Pollen, Seed, Reed, Cotton, Vegetable, Pumpkin, Flower, Sunflower, Garden, Greenhouse, Farmer and Green Man.
